Description

The SCC is designed for high-density SS7 and HDLC applications within the telecommunication and data communication markets.

Applications

The SCC card supports PSTN, ATM, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet  and Frame relay using cPCI, PMC and different communication interface modules.

Elements

Two printed circuit boards; The SCC front panel SC and the SCC back panel SCC/TM (Transition Module).

The SCC is a cPCI (Compact PCI) peripheral equipped with zero, one or two TDM interfaces.

The SCC/TM is a cPCI transition module that provides rear I/O for the SCC board (with up to 16 E1/T1 ports per card).


SCC Family

The SCC family of cards includes three assembly options:

SCC-0: Zero CPU cards used mainly as E1/T1 I/O and cross-connect

SCC-1: One CPU card for medium processing needs

SCC-2: Two CPU card for very high processing needs

The System provides configuration flexibility to mix interfaces within a single chassis. Interfaces supported are:

V.35, RS-530, fractional DSO

E1/T1 (up to 16)

DS3/E3

Ethernet 10/100/1000 BASE T

STM-1/OC3

IMA (up to 8 E1/T1)


Form Factors

The SCC form factor conforms to both the IEEE 1101.10 faceplate and IEEE 1101.116U Eurocard (233.35 X 160mm) specification.

The SCC/TM form factor is an 80mm X 6U transition module providing rear I/O through the cPCI connectors using balanced interface shielded RJ45 connectors.

The SCC and SCC/TM have been tested and certified to comply with various safety, immunity and emission requirements as specified by the FCC underwriters' labs (UL), NEBS and the CE.
